UREA (Technical Grade Urea – TGU)

Technical Grade Urea, also known as industrial or prilled urea, is a white, odorless, crystalline solid with the chemical formula CH₄N₂O and CAS 57-13-6. It’s highly soluble in water and contains approximately 46% nitrogen by weight, making it a potent nitrogen source.

Uses

Technical Grade Urea is highly versatile and finds applications across several industries:

  • Agriculture: As a high-nitrogen fertilizer or feedstock for water-soluble NPK blends.
  • Urea-Formaldehyde Resins: Used in adhesives, plywood, particle board, and laminated boards.
  • Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF / AdBlue): Serves in NOₓ reduction systems for cleaner vehicle emissions.
  • Chemical Synthesis: Raw material in dyes, pigments, plastics, fermentation, rubber, oil, and textile processes.
  • Personal Care & Cosmetics: Moisturizer in skincare products like lotions, shampoos, and creams.
  • Animal Feed: As a nitrogen supplement in ruminant feed formulations.
  • Water Treatment: Used in various chemical treatments and industrial processes.
